Paperboard Books Recalled By Gund

Comments Off

Gund, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, have announced a voluntary recall of Gund Baby Paperboard Books in the U.S. and Canada due to a piece that can detach, posing a choking/aspiration hazard.

To this date, the company has received three reports of children putting detached plastic foam in their mouths, but no reports of injuries.

The books were sold at gift and novelty stores around the country between January 2009 and March 2010. Below is a detailed list of UPC numbers involved in the recall.

UPC 028399591732 set/3 books in vinyl pouch

UPC 028399591749 “Animals” book

UPC 028399591756 “Numbers” book

UPC 028399591763 “Colors” book

The agency recommends taking the recalled books from young children and contacting Gund for a free replacement for equal or lesser value.

For more information, call Gund at (800) 436-3726 or visit their Web site at www.gund.com.
