HIGH RATE OF HEART DISEASE IN FUTURE GENERATIONS

The New England Journal of Medicine reports that heart disease is expected to rise from 5% to 15%, primarily due to an epidemic of childhood obesity. Childhood obesity developed in the 1970’s and has resulted in an increased occurrence of childhood Diabetes. Childhood obesity will cause a 15% increased incidence in coronary heart disease by 2035 and will produce a strain on our health care system. The data was the result of studies conducted in the U.S. and Denmark.
